83 Stocks that Doubled Your Money In the First Half of 2009
It's been a wild and volatile first half of 2009. We followed one of the worst periods in history (Jan-Feb) with one of the best (Mar-Apr)... and topped it off with a stagnant market (May-Jun) to finish off the quarter. For all this the S&P is up a staggering 1.5% for the year to date. But if you bought some of the stocks below on Dec 31st, 2008 - went off on the long planned tripped to Tahiti (hence, not panicking in the dark days of February through early March) and just showed up today Posted on 1 July 2009 | 5:45 am |

A Look at Riverbed, Pro and Con
Trader Mark submits: There is a nice writeup on Riverbed Technology (RVBD) this morning on CBSMarketwatch which quite fairly sums up my views as well; pro and con. This is one of the current "untouchables," and until it breaks the trend, the computers will continue to purchase it... it appears. I still have my stop loss at just under $22 because many times when these uptrends break, it can get ugly fast. Unlike many other companies that sell high-tech products to corporations, Riverbed T Posted on 29 June 2009 | 12:32 pm |

LogMeIn IPO Plans to Raise $67 million - Where Will the Money Go?
As markets trade higher to start off the week, underwriters for the new LogMeIn IPO are likely drumming up interest in the latest offering to hit Wall Street. The IPO market has been relatively slow over the past year as the bear market has reduced the amount of liquidity and made such offerings very difficult. But the spring rally has made it possible for several new stock offerings to come to market helping companies raise much needed cash for their businesses. TIMELY N Posted on 29 June 2009 | 9:27 am |

11 Untouchables - Stocks in Most Persistent Uptrends
Trader Mark submits: I am going to list some charts below of stocks that are on an incredible runs right now... basically the most '45 degree' angle like structure on the chart, without a lot of "gap ups" or "spiky" action. The market overall is really just a hodge podge mess, going nowhere for 2 months - but some action as always is happening under the surface. To clear out penny stocks or just daytrader specials, these all have at least 200K in volume on average, and a market cap over $300M. Posted on 29 June 2009 | 2:51 am |

Bookkeeping: Adding Back to Riverbed Technology (RVBD) on Analyst Note
Looks like there is a cautious note on Riverbed Technology (RVBD ) from Oppenheimer - so we got sort of lucky here, as we (in error) sold most of the position earlier this week thinking earnings were on tap. With the stock in the $22.50s, which is the 20 day moving average I am going to swoop in and get my 0.2% stake back up to 2.5% . Of course when (and if) momentum breaks on a stock in an uptrend you have to be ready to parachute out, but buying at the 10 day moving average has been a winn Posted on 26 June 2009 | 7:19 am |

June is Not July and other Deep Thoughts (by Jack Handy)
Somehow I read 7/23 as earnings for Riverbed Technology (RVBD) as June 23rd. As I review my college education I remember somewhere in there that "7" does not equal June. Hence I performed premature evacuation selling Riverbed earlier this week "ahead" of earnings. Oh, it was ahead all right - but about 30 days ahead... I was wondering who all these guys were who were piling into the name "just ahead" of earnings. Err... RVBD is "strong like ox" so I will attempt to find a way to get back t Posted on 24 June 2009 | 2:23 pm |
